Since we opened our doors in 1981, our founder, Sasha Muniak, had one thing in mind: transform New York City’s lunch scene by offering artisanal ingredients, a farm-to-table menu comprised of rustic, delicious Italian fare and exciting, traditional recipes, which he discovered during his culinary travels in the Mediterranean. His passion has always been to nourish New Yorkers with unique tastes and findings, from a simple yet yummy sandwich to a hotline gourmet dish, so guests get excited about their lunch and share such moments with their friends and colleagues. Since then, his ‘never-boring-lunch’ rule has been fully integrated into Mangia’s philosophy and makes up the prime motto of our culinary team members every single morning when they switch on our kitchen lights at 5am!
