How to make almond milk at home?

almond milk

Almonds contain vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber, and so they may offer a number of health benefits.

Here is what you need to make about 5 cups of almond milk at home:

  • 2 cups of whole almonds
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the almonds and boil until they float to the surface. Skim off any foam from the surface, then drain in a colander. When the almonds have cooked slightly, peel off their skins and discard.

Transfer the almonds to a food processor and pulse until finely chopped (but not fully ground). Put hold the almonds on a clean towel and place the towel over a large bowl. Slowly pour 1 cup cold water into the towel and squeeze the almonds enclosed in the towel until the cloudy milk drinks into the bowl. Continue adding water and squeezing until the milk runs clear (you should use about 3 cups of water). Discard the almonds and repeat the process with the rest of the almonds and water. Add the sugar to taste and stir until dissolved. Refrigerate and serve cold! Enjoy! Love, Mangia xoxo
